Storytelling With Iray: Featuring RawArt3D
Previously I did a journal entry on the elements of a great storytelling render in 3Delight, which you can find here.
A vast majority of artwork rendered in Poser and Daz Studio is either somewhat formalist in the sense that it's still roleplay portraits, or else it's just a series of bad pinups. I have a different article on what makes a better pinup.
It's been a while since I did one of these, but today RawArt3d (https://www.deviantart.com/rawart3d) put up this render.
Visual storytelling is difficult in every medium - comics, animation, renders, painting, sculpting. But there are elements of composition that make it easier, and RawArt is a master of these. As he pointed
Finally sprung for core membership as the ads here drove me nuts.
Still finding my way around some of the new features but I've set up a gallery for my renders of Diva http://pendraia.daportfolio.com/
For those who don't know Diva is a morph I created by loading Baby Luna as a morph and then using Zbrush to finetune the morph.
Normally I would put this up as a freebie but due to copyright issues I will be releasing this through Hivewire...
Morph and adjusted everyday poses are currently done for Daz Studio and I'm currently working on transferring her over to Poser.
I'm a total noob when it comes to Poser so wish me luck...
I never seem to be able to keep up at the moment. I have been teaching full-time now for two terms at a school for kids who have autism. I love working there but never seem to have enough time for my art... Hopefully I will have a bit more time soon as I get used to working full-time.
cheers
